Mac OS X Leopard Beta Preview June 28, 2007

Posted by asimag in MacBook Pro, OS X Leopard.

I had a chance to preview Leopard. Here are my findings:

  1. Bluetooth works good. It support A2DP. Now you can connect with your favourite Bluetooth Stereo Headset. My Sony Ericsson HBH-DS970 works beautifully with all keys working.
  2. Some Program crashes for example Google Earth while connecting to Server crashes. It never starts. Apple New Mail also crashed once.
  3.  All other application are working ok like Parallels, Microsoft Office, Adobe CS3, Skype, Safari.
  4. I love SPACES a new application. Finder Cover Flow is good and their are lots of improvements. Now actual thumbnails are shown instead of icons.
  5. SMS can be send through Address Book using connected Bluetooth Phone.
  6. Apple Remote Desktop 3.1 does not work.
  7. SuperDriver Firmware updater also crashes.
  8. Filer Maker Pro also crashes while launching

Results: Quite Buggy, not worth the upgrade now.

Did you install this on a new SR Macbook Pro? I got a kernel panic with the downloaded Leopard .dmg from ADC after booting from the burned image on DL DVD

I have curo 2 duo macbook pro 15″. No kernel panic. Do you have the original DVD? Use ipod to install it.

On my test machine (MacBook Pro) most programs work fine.
Some programs are slow in starting up (like the MS Office suite)
and just a very few programs don’t work, liker Apple (!!) Remote Desktop 3.1
Hope there is some patch available… Anybody knows of??

So, you paired your N95 with Address Book, under Leopard, and were able to send/receive SMS?

Because I can’t do that under Tiger!
